Screen on the Green with 2239:
“Bonnie and Clyde”

6:00 - 10:00 p.m
Join us for eating, socializing and summertime fun at the last Screen on the Green (SOTG) movie of the year! If you’re not familiar with SOTG (annual summer movie series on the Smithsonian Mall) – it’s a venerable Washington DC institution ranking right up there with Ben’s half smokes, go-go music, and inauguration balls.
Come – it’s fun and free!!!
Plans are as follows:
When to Meet: Promptly at 6PM. As there will be a big crowd, we will need to meet early so we can claim a comfortable space for all of us. We’ll eat, drink and be merry – then the movie starts around 8:30PM (dusk). Given that there will be many of us, I won’t be able to reserve a spot for you – so either meet us at 6PM or have a friend be there to hold a space! If you arrive late, you can text me at 202-821-3084 and I’ll tell you where we are, but there may not be room….
Where to Meet: At 6PM we’ll meet at the North-East corner of theintersection of 7th Street and Jefferson Avenue S.W.
How to Get There: Given that there is limited parking, it is suggested that you take the metro. Smithsonian (orange/blue) and L’Enfant Plaza (green/yellow, orange/blue) are the closest metro stops to our meeting place.
What to Bring: A blanket and/or low chair, bug spray, food/beverages of your choice (alcoholic drinks permitted), and something to share with the group (side dishes, appetizers, salads, snacks, desserts). This year, there are a variety of food vendors setting up shop near Jefferson and 4th Streets SW.
Oh, and the Movie: Bonnie and Clyde (1967), a shoot-em-up crime drama. Super fresh rating on rottentomatoes.com!
